Atkins diet recipes

Unlike any other diet in history, low carb diets are radically changing the way nation nutrition. In order to follow the diet requirements and at the same time not lose the taste of food you have to find the most appropriate recipes for you.

While thinking about the recipes to choose, first thing that should be taken into account is the list of food allowed while Atkins diet. These foods are protein and fats. Mainly these are all natural (animal) protein. There are a lot o them in turkey, red meat, chicken etc. The only cautions with protein is the case of manufactured meat (it contains carbohydrates like breadcrumbs) and cured meat (it often contains sugars).

All animal fats like butter as well as non-trans vegetable fats are allowed to be eaten for people on the atkins diet. Margarine (hydrogenated) is prohibited in this case. Many of the vegetable oils you find on supermarket shelves are also not allowed for dieters.

Fruit, as well as nuts, seeds, legumes like lentils, chickpeas/hummous, kidney beans, sugar, all processed food like bread, pasta, and junk food, coffee, tea and alcohol, yoghurt and ice cream, chewing gum, breath mints and cough syrup - all this products are excluded from the allowed list.

If the an oil is unrefined or mechanically pressed, then we can assume its fully or partially hydrogenated (or degummed, refined, bleached, or deoderized, all of which decrease the health value of the oil significantly).

After making the lists of allowed and forbidden products you can start forming your list of possible recipes. You can actually find a lot of different collections of Atkins diet recipes on many sites. You will then just have to choose most tasty for you.
